My New Breed

Well, it might not be new but it is to me. My Yorkshire farrowed a brown belt. Some will call her a saddle. But, I like brown belt best. For those of you that don't know I will explain. Take a Hampshire and replace all the black with red or brown. All I can think of is some where down the line was a duroc. I am so excited to have this little girl in my herd. I have already named her which is Liby. I will have pictures to post later. She is still with her dam. Now I must research and decide in the next seven months what boar I will be breeding her with. I will most likely use AI since I don't have too buy a boar. One person suggested I use a boar with lop ears. Never thought of it but now I definately will. I am going to research genes and see what genes are more dominate then others. I want these colors to dominate and produce the same brown belts. I am so excited and I will let everyone know what I choose. Plus, I will need to get some good pictures up of her.
